As a member of the faculty at Yale School of Medicine, he has led an over 30-year program of NIH and VA funded translational research focused on these pathophysiological processes, developing seminal research methods for examining these links, and conducting randomized clinical trials aimed at improving patient outcomes. His expertise extends to the design and testing of behavioral interventions to improve medical and psychosocial outcomes for patients with cardiovascular disease and co-morbid depression and distress, and for increasing physical activity among sedentary patients. His work has contributed to a greater understanding of the biological, behavioral, and social-environmental factors and mechanisms that predict and explain self-management of heart disease, including adherence to recommended secondary prevention treatments.

Description of Programming
There are multiple pathways to being a successful researcher within academic health centers (AHC) and psychologists are in a unique position to lead research in an AHC setting. In this webinar you will learn from psychologists who have successfully navigated a research career within an AHC conducting EHR and mHealth research respectively. In this interactive webinar you will have the opportunity to participate in each of two breakout- group discussions with these experts to inform the integration of research in your career as a psychologist in an AHC.

Dr. Karen Ingersoll and Dr. Matthew Burg April 19th, 2022 12:00 – 1:00pm ET Venue: Zoom (links will be sent in advance to those who register) Registration is Now Closed Speaker Bios Karen Ingersoll, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Professor of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia’s School of Medicine […]

[4,10
